Key to a Good Relationship

Mr. Manners

The key to a good relationship is; "Yes Dear" and a short memory (forget the past). When you fight, My Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, said: Don't ever say anything that you can't take back!

Use the words: Your being a butt, Young Lady or Young Man in the place of four letter words or the B and C word. Make rules.

Have you ever watched the Jerry Springer show and heard a person said I slept with your best friend. True or not your spouse will never forget that until the day they die. We say things in the heat of the moment to hurt the other person, true or not. Once it's out there you can never take it back no matter how many times you apologize. The only advice I can give you is to bite your tongue.

Post Note: A happy and lasting relationship might be as simple as regularly expressing gratitude. What distinguishes the relationships that last from those that don't is not how often they argue, but how they argue and treat each other daily goes to show the power of "Thank You." A study published in the journal Personal Relationships by University of Georgia.
